Zachariah 4:6
Isaiah 60:22
“A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in its time.”
Zachariah 4:6
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
Luke 1:23-38
And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
Divine Mercy
Romans 9:16
So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. KJV
So God will choose anyone he decides to show mercy to, and His choice does not depend on what people want or try to do. ERV
And so God’s blessings are not given just because someone decides to have them or works hard to get them. They are given because God takes pity on those He wants to. TLB
Is that grounds for complaining that God is unfair? Not so fast, please. God told Moses, “I’m in charge of mercy. I’m in charge of compassion.” Compassion doesn’t originate in our bleeding hearts or moral sweat but in God’s mercy. MSG
It is obviously not a question of human will or human effort, but of divine mercy. PHILLIPS
God must show us mercy.
- I will make you a thousand, not because you are willing.
- I will make you a strong nation not because you are ready to run.
- I will make you a thousand, not because you are praying and crying on HeartCry, seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
- I will only make you a thousand when I show you mercy.
- A man who is already strong cannot become a strong nation.
- A man who is resourceful in himself, who still has his legs cannot become a thousand.
- Such a man is already full; he is already a thousand in his own sight.
- There is nothing you and I have that will qualify us or attract God to us; NOTHING. We are dust and we should eat the dust before Him.
- All we have and possess are actually the things that scare God away from us.
- Though we have come to Calvary, though dead works have been buried and are still being buried, though we have drunk the New Wine and are still drinking, if the Lord does not show us mercy, this declaration will become a mere slogan.
Low Estate, Low Degree, Hungry Little One
Luke 1:47-48, 51-52 KJV
And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. He hath filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he hath sent empty away. He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy...
- Not the importance estate, high status, culture and education of His handmaiden
- The proud has no portion in this; the proud one will be scattered and cannot become a nation.
- Nor the satisfied, the fulfilled, the self–sufficient, independent, self-righteous, over confident.
- God cannot multiply the life that is not in low estate; it is the life that Satan exhibited in heaven that made the angels throw him out forever.
- What God can multiply and expand and grow by the Holy Ghost is that one of extremely low degree, those who are hungry.
- God can only multiply littleness; He cannot multiply greatness, He cannot feed those who are already full.
- God can only show mercy to the man who is already down and out, who is at the end of himself, the end of his wisdom, the end of my organisation, the end of his calculation and his manipulation. He who is of low estate.
Prayer Points: Keep in the ICU of Mercy
- Make me a man that is helpless to the point that You will have mercy on me.
- Make me an object of Your mercy, O Lord; put me in the intensive care unit of Your mercy.
- Do not let me graduate from the class of low estate; Do not let me graduate from the class of nothingness; do not let me graduate from littleness.
- Lord, bring me down so that You can find in me a little one that You can multiply.
- Cripple me until I know that if God does not help me, I am not helped.
- Lord, make me remain little; not for a while, but for the whole time I will be on this side of eternity.
- Lord, keep me in the intensive care unit of mercy so that I will not change my status from little to big.
- Please do not let me experience any promotion that will take me away from that class of men and women that God can help.
- Lord, let me be famished and hungry; let me starve for You. Increase my appetite and let me never be satisfied.
- Take away any attraction that attracts men to me; block their eyes; let men forget me so that You may remember me.
As Thou useth to do unto those who trust Your name.
Look upon me O Lord and be merciful unto me,
As Thou useth to do unto those who trust Your name.
Joshua, the Little One Who Became a Thousand
Joshua 5:13- 15
And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?
And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?
And the captain of the Lord’s host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.
The Commander is Here; Take Off Your Shoes
- The Commander of the Lord’s army is here. God has opened this day for us, and there are many lands to conquer; many battles to fight in order to repossess what the enemy has stolen.
- Ordinary bullets of the Word of God cannot penetrate the thick wickedness in our generation.
- No one can penetrate and establish the kingdom of God if the Commander of the Lord’s army does not help us.
- Yes, we have fought battles while in the wilderness, battles for passage.
- Now we are about to enter the battles for possessions, battles that if you will and conquer, it will be recorded against your little name; against your small family in heaven.
- The Holy Ghost has come and the first instruction is ‘OFF YOUR SHOES’.
- Circumcised, yes. But your shoes are still on.
- The Commander is here with divine strategies but if He meets you with your shoes on, He will jump over you.
- We may not need to shoot any arrow when the Commander takes over and instructs us.
What Are These Shoes?
Shoes of intelligence and skill in living and in serving God
- Remember, when Joshua started, he was with Moses whose shoes were off and what a revival Moses brought. The revival that left Egypt on its knees.
- Moses was now dead and Joshua now had to take off his own shoes; he was already wearing the shoes of his strategies as a man of war.
- This battle cannot be won by skills and intelligence. The world’s skills and intelligence are no match for ours.
- There are barriers that will not give way to your intelligence.
- Our intelligence HQ is with the Holy Ghost, not our skills, understanding, knowledge.
- Only a man whose shoes are off can receive the strategies and intelligence from the Holy Ghost.
Shoes of self-confidence, smartness, oratory skills, riches, natural wisdom
- Jacob was intelligent; he always knew what to do; he always devises his own way.
- If God does not help us, we will fall in the battlefield.
- We cannot enter into God’s blessings if we do not take off our shoes.
Shoes of unbelief in the word, the ability and the methodology of GOD
- Naaman said, “I thought the man would come out and strike and heal the disease.”
- Unbelief will not let you see the strategy of God for winning your battles.
- Report at the feet of the Commander of the Lord’s army.
Shoes of past/or present experience, assessment and judgement
- You cannot enter with your own personal ways, your nature. These are not matters of sin but they are the instrument of Mr. Flesh.
Shoes of self-righteousness, education, prowess, ability, money, wealth
- They are filthy rags; they are dry cisterns that hold no water.
- What are the shoes that I climb with whenever there is a difficulty?
What are the shoes that I quickly put on when battles confront me?
- They must be permanently off. Joshua, although he took off his shoes for the battle of Jericho, he put them back on again for Ai and suffered for it.
- We have been going round in circles in the wilderness because of these shoes and they have not helped us.
- After Joshua removed his shoes, Chapter 6 opened with a great plan given by the master strategist, the Commander of the Lord’s army.
- If we do not remove these shoes, we will perish in the wilderness and the unconquered lands that we ought to enter to become a thousand will be left in the hands of the enemy.
God Is Not Interested the Legs of a Man
Psalm 147:10-11
He delighted not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man. The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear Him,
in those that hope in His mercy.KJV
in those that hope in His mercy.KJV
He’s not impressed with horsepower; the size of our muscles means little to him. Those who fear God get God’s attention; they can depend on his strength. MSG
The speed of a horse is nothing to him. How puny in his sight is the strength of a man. But his joy is in those who reverence him, those who expect him to be loving and kind. TLB
God doesn’t prize the strength of a horse; God doesn’t treasure the legs of a runner. No. The Lord treasures the people who honour him, the people who wait for his faithful love. CEB
The Lord doesn’t care about the strength of horses or powerful armies. The Lord is pleased only with those who worship him and trust his love. CEV
