Nigeria: The Time Has Come!

Join This HeartCry Prayer- Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 11.30am -1.30pm (UK Time)

Holy Spirit, Intercede for Us
  • We do not know what we should pray for as we ought, particularly as the situation in Nigeria is complex. Holy Spirit, please make intercessions for us. Show us Your heart concerning Nigeria.
  • We have become partakers of the Holy Spirit because of the finished work of the cross.
  • As partakers of the Holy Spirit, we come deliberately to the throne of grace to collect what heaven has in store for Nigeria through prayer.
  • The heart of Jesus breaks when He sees nations suffering under the yoke of Satan even after all that He did at Calvary.
  • We want our hearts to break because of all that is happening on so that we can pray sincerely and intensely.

Prayer Points: For Ourselves
  • Let us present our hearts before the Lord.
  • Lord, let my heart be sensitive in Spirit.
  • Let it be more and more focused and committed to Your Kingdom purpose.
  • Let my mind be concerned with the things of the Your Kingdom.
  •  Help me to catch the burden of Your heart concerning the nation of Nigeria.
  • Enlarge my heart, O Lord. Help me to understand Your burden.
  • Let what breaks Your heart also break mine.
  • Open my eyes and let me see as You see.
  • Let my heart believe You, O Lord.
  • Let my heart yearn earnestly for the fulfilment of Your divine expectation concerning the nation of Nigeria, knowing that You are faithful to Your Word.
  • Holy Spirit, have Your way in me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Haggai 1:1-7, 12 (TLB)

Subject: a message from the Lord.
To: Haggai the prophet, who delivered it to Zerubbabel (son of Shealtiel), governor of Judah; and to Joshua (son of Josedech), the High Priest—for it was addressed to them.
When: In late August of the second year of the reign of King Darius I.
Why is everyone saying it is not the right time for rebuilding my Temple?” asks the Lord.
3-4 His reply to them is this: “Is it then the right time for you to live in luxurious homes, when the Temple lies in ruins? Look at the result: You plant much but harvest little. You have scarcely enough to eat or drink and not enough clothes to keep you warm. Your income disappears, as though you were putting it into pockets filled with holes!
“Think it over,” says the Lord Almighty. “Consider how you have acted and what has happened as a result! Then go up into the mountains, bring down timber, and rebuild my Temple, and I will be pleased with it and appear there in my glory,” says the Lord.

12 Then Zerubbabel (son of Shealtiel), the governor of Judah, and Joshua (son of Josedech), the High Priest, and the few people remaining in the land obeyed Haggai’s message from the Lord their God; they began to worship him in earnest.

Who are they who say the time has not come?

The Church
How are they saying it is not time?
  • There is a lot of division in the Church in Nigeria.
  • They are not united in the mystery of the gospel, together taking on the honour of executing the written judgment upon the enemies of God’s purpose for Nigeria, they have occupied themselves with personal projects, building beautiful homes for themselves and selfish ambitions that have nothing to do with pushing back darkness and advancing the kingdom of God in Nigeria.
  • The Lord’s house is in ruins spiritually and has become very weak.
  • The Lord’s house, in many cases, is also in ruins physically. Just a few days ago, on the 11th of January, the authorities in Jigawa State brought in bulldozers to level two longstanding churches (Redeemed Christian Church of God was there for 8 years and The Lord’s Chosen for 17 years). They came unexpectedly on the false claim that there was no planning permission. Jigawa State is one on the 12 states out of 36 that has officially adopted Shariah Law.

Prayer Points: The Church

You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her,
Yes, the set time, has come.
Psalm 102:13 NKJV

  • Let us ask the Lord to bring the entire church in Nigeria back to the mystery of the Gospel, and flush out any other gospel that is not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Let us ask or the Church in Nigeria to be revived. Lord! Bring back the message of the cross to every pulpit. Let it be the total counsel of God.
  •  Deliver Your people from a life of ease and complacency.
  • Let us ask the Lord to give us leaders that are connected to the unending supply of the Spirit of God. Leaders who are united in love who can discern the Body of Christ.
  •  John 17:11 –”Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.”
  • Make the Church in Nigeria one in the Father, and in the Son and in the Holy Spirt.
  • Send Your power, and strengthen Your Church.
  • Arise, O Lord and have mercy on Zion because it is time for You to favour her.
  • Cause her to consider her ways and begin to worship you earnestly.
  • Let the Church in Nigeria know that Your set time has come!

Boko Haram
How are they saying it is not time?
  • Boko Haram is the world’s most dangerous terrorist organisations in the world and they are terrorising the nation. This has brought a lot of persecution, unrest and anguish to the nation.

Fulani Herdsmen
How are they saying it is not time?
  • Fulani Herdsmen are the fourth most dangerous in the world, wreaking havoc everywhere they go. They have gone from Enugu state to Southern Kaduna to Benue State destroying lives and property.
  • On the 10th of January 2017, a small village in Niger State called Sabondaga - a village of farmers - was invaded by the Fulani herdsmen. The farmers are crying and cannot be consoled because the Fulani herdsmen moved from one yam barn to another burning all they had worked for over the years – about 500 million Naira gone. This community of about 20,000 people has been turned into a ghost town – the villagers have all fled for their lives – haunted by the fear of getting killed f they return.

Islamic Agenda
How are they saying it is not time?
  • Many (including Christian groups) have taken it upon themselves to gather convincing evidence that Islamisation of Nigeria is real and that it is being implemented gradually.
  • Nigeria is a full member of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC).
  • 12 out of the 36 states of Nigeria have adopted Sharia Law.
  • There has been a lot of persecution, unrest and anguish to the nation and Christians are being deliberately targeted and killed.

Haggai 2:5-7 (TLB)
For I promised when you left Egypt that my Spirit would remain among you; so don’t be afraid.’
“For the Lord Almighty says, ‘In just a little while I will begin to shake the heavens and earth—and the oceans, too, and the dry land. I will shake all nations, and the Desire of All Nations shall come to this Temple, and I will fill this place with my glory,’ says the Lord Almighty.

Regardless of whoever says the time has not yet come in whichever way, God is committed to ensuring that every nation brings forth their treasure – which is Christ, the Desire of all nations.

Christ is the Desire of all nations.
Christ is the Desire of the nation of Nigeria.

Our responsibility is to pray down the will of God for Nigeria as it is in heaven.

 Haggai 2:21-22 (NKJV)
21 “Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying: ‘I will shake heaven and earth.
22 I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms; I will destroy the strength of the Gentile kingdoms.
I will overthrow the chariots And those who ride in them;
The horses and their riders shall come down, Every one by the sword of his brother.

Prayer Points:  Desire of all Nations
  •  O Lord, shake Nigeria and cause her wealth to flow to You. Nigeria too will contribute her quota to the rebuilding of Your house in our generation.
  • Overthrow the throne of the kingdoms of Boko Haram.
  •  Destroy the strength of the Fulani Herdsmen.
  • Overthrow the chariots of the Islamic Agenda and those who ride in them.
  • All these ones who say Your time has not yet come, the horses and their riders shall come down in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Spirit Divine
Spirit divine, attend our prayers,
and make this house thy home;
descend with all thy gracious powers,
O come, great Spirit, come!

Come as the light; to us reveal
our emptiness and woe,
and lead us in those paths of life
whereon the righteous go.

Come as the fire and purge our hearts
like sacrificial flame;
let our whole soul an offering be
to our Redeemer's Name.

Come as the dove, and spread thy wings,
the wings of peaceful love;
and let thy Church on earth become
blest as the Church above.

Come as the dew and sweetly bless
this consecrated hour;
may barrenness rejoice to own
thy fertilizing power.

Spirit divine, attend our prayers,
make a lost world thy home;
descend with all thy gracious powers;
O come, great Spirit, come!

Nigeria: Let the Righteous / Godly Rule

1 Timothy 2:1-2
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Proverbs 29: (NLT)
When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan.

Proverbs 29:2 (KJV)
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Who Are the Godly?
  • Sincerity - Eagerness to do what is right with transparent motives. (1 Peter 1:22)
  • Thoroughness - Knowing what factors will diminish the effectiveness of my work or words if neglected. (Proverbs 18:15)
  • Thriftiness - Not letting myself or others spend that which is not necessary. (Luke16:11)
  • Tolerance - Acceptance of others as unique expressions of specific character qualities in varying degrees of maturity. (Philippians 2:2)
  • Truthfulness - Earning future trust by accurately reporting past facts. (Ephesians 4:25)
  • Virtue - The moral excellence and purity of spirit that radiate from my life as I obey God’s Word. (2 Peter 1:3)
  • Wisdom - Seeing and responding to life’s situations from God’s frame of reference. (Proverbs 9:10)
  • Self-Control - Instant obedience to the promptings of God’s Spirit. (Galatians 5:24–25)
Daniel 9: 16-17 (Jerusalem = Nigeria):
O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee; let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us. Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake.

Jeremiah 1:10
See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

Prayer Points
  • Lord, thank You for Your plan and purpose for Nigeria. We pray Your perfect will be done.
  • We ask Lord, that You will frustrate all the schemes of the insurgent, whether they be through Boko Haram or  Fulani herdsmen - all that raises its head against the counsel of the LORD.
  • Leviticus 26:6 (Land = Nigeria): And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
  • Remove everyone or anything that will not conform to Your will and rule over Nigeria.
  • When the righteous rule, the city is at peace.
  • We declare that the righteous will rule in Nigeria.
  • From the east, east, north and south of Nigeria.
  • We declare that righteousness will reign and the knowledge of Christ shall be established.
  • Lord, we pray that you will subdue the ungodly leaders in Nigeria.
  • Lord, rescue Nigeria and deliver this nation from ungodly leader.
  • Lord, pave the way and strategically position the godly men and women.
  • Let there be believers and disciples to accomplish Your will and purpose.
  • Proverbs 29:4 (KJV): The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
  • Father, we pray for righteous rulers who through their discretion honesty and their compassion will bring stability to Nigeria.
Proverbs 29:9 (KJV)
If  wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
  • Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
  • The righteous man is a wise man. He has received wisdom from God.
  • Scornful men here are men who scorn the authority of God.  They scorn the law of God. Such men can bring a city into a snare or captivity.
  • Scornful men can bring the wrath of God down upon a city.
  • The wise men in the city are able to turn away wrath.
Proverbs 29:9 (KJV)
The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
  • Father, helps us (the Church), even in the midst of persecution, to seek to preach the gospel to those persecuting Your CHURCH.
  • Give us the desire and love to see them come to the saving knowledge of Christ.
Lord, we, by Your mercy, make a demand in heaven that only the godly will rule in Nigeria. Hasten Your word to perform it.

Nigeria: A Cry for Kingdom Eunuchs

  • Is the promised revival on hold for lack of Mordecai’s and Hegai’s?
  • Can God totally rely on; trust in and commit to you His bride?
  • Is your tireless labour ONLY to make fit the KING’s bride?
  • How have/are you handling the lives committed to your care?

Prayer Points
  • Beg the Lord to consider you and make you a eunuch for the sake of the Gospel and kingdom.
  • Plead for great grace to receive this level of consecration to be a eunuch for the kingdom.
  • A consecration that puts to death your vision; your ambition; your appetite; your strength; your will; self; selfishness; pride e.t.c.
  • Receive grace to prepare the Lord’s bride for her HUSBAND, i.e. CHRIST.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to help you so that you will never touch God’s glory.
  • Pray for great grace that enables more disciples to receive the level of consecration to become eunuchs for the kingdom. Lord of the harvest, please raise more Mordecai’s and Hegai’s in Nigeria.
  • Let these men and women (eunuchs for the Gospel’s sake) cover EVERY state in Nigeria. Post them into ALL sectors – political, education, health, commerce e.t.c.
  • Let them be men and women whose ONLY ambition is to prepare the Lord’s bride for her HUSBAND; men and women who will spend and be spent so that the glory of the Church will burst forth; men and women who will never violate or abuse the Lord’s bride; men and women who are happy to be nameless so that Christ is seen, heard and known. Notwithstanding their own challenges, will rather die at their duty post than make room for themselves.

Nigeria: Why Do the Nations Rage?

Engaging God for Nigeria
  • Our Lord Jesus taught us to pray – “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” and that is why we are here.
  • We want to engage God concerning the critical situations in Nigeria today.
  • Engage means - to occupy or attract someone’s interest or attention.
  • Only those who have come into Christ by the blood and stay inside Him by the cross are able to engage God. Only those who have a right standing with God are able to engage Him.We must pray for ourselves concerning our connection with God through the cross of Christ.  We want it to be a strong connection that is engaged with our prayers for Nigeria.
  • We are seeking God’s attention.

Prayer Points: For Ourselves

“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are loyal to Him.”  (2 Chronicles 16:9)

  •  Lord, I are here! Please let Your eyes locate me. I want to have Your precious attention and engage You through prayers. I want to secure Your gaze.  Lord, I plead with You - look upon me in Your mercy.
  • Your eyes are going to and fro the earth, because there is something You are searching for. Please Lord, help my heart to be loyal to You . Help me to know that it is a ‘holy search’ for people You want to engage in  ‘holy business’ in our generation.
  • When the fire of trials and tribulations come, let me be found loyal still. I want You to show Yourself strong on my behalf. Fill Your Spirit and so that I do not slack in my connection to You through the cross of Christ.
  • Lord, You have worked upon our lives and revealed the mystery of the gospel in us. Why? So that we will be awake to our responsibility in You and arise to pray down  the will of God in heaven.
  • Lord, help me to know my responsibility - my responsibility to expand the frontiers of the kingdom of God while there is still breath in me.  Those in the grave cannot engage God in prayer. Help me to stand in prayer concerning the increase of Your kingdom.
  • Put Your burden into my heart for Nigeria, O Lord! I want it would be a heart cry. I have been given the responsibility to gain understanding of the issues plaguing Nigeria and carry them nation on my heart. I can’t carry on as though it has nothing to do with me. Help me to be concerned with what You are concerned about in Nigeria. Help me to cry for the wickedness and terrible atrocities going on there.
  • Please cause Your burden for Nigeria to grow for each one of us on Monday HeartCry as we grow in knowledge of Your divine expectation. We want our prayers to be fervent.
  • Please make us tenacious  in prayer - to  pray and pray and pray until something happens, not just when we are on the prayer platform but also in our closets. Do not allow us to be casual or complacent concerning the situation in Nigeria and what You are doing about it.
  • This is the Word of the Lord to us:
“You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.” John 15:14-16 (NKJV)

Fulani Herdsmen Crisis

The Fulani Herdsmen crisis one of the major issues in Nigeria at the moment.
It is enough for us to know that these herdsmen have been set on fire by hell to destroy the purpose of God in Nigeria.
One of the ways to catch a burden is through reports. The Holy Spirit will us have insight into the circumstances reported so that we can engage God on them.

An Online Report:
_____________

Understanding the Fulani Herdsmen Crisis in Nigeria

The Fulani Herdsmen crisis remains a major issue in Nigeria. So far, thousands have been killed and many more have been expelled from their homes, and the Nigerian government does not appear willing to initiate any forceful action against them. Rather, they are requesting for pieces of land from states in order to provide the rampaging herdsmen with permanent feeding ground.

Who are the Fulani Herdsmen?
They are largely nomads who go through towns with their cattle. In Nigeria, the Fulani and the Hausa people dominate the northern states, with a population of well over 30 million. Notably, people of the Fulani tribe rarely ever use artificial birth control methods and, as a result of this, the tribe is very fertile, hence their vast population and their presence in almost every state across the country.

Why are they violent?
Due to the peculiarity of the activities of the herdsmen, they move from one place to another in search of pasture. In this process, the herdsmen have reportedly encountered cattle rustlers and made complaints to the relevant authorities who fail to investigate the issue, hence their purported reason for carrying arms about. During their journey, they frequently trespass farmlands owned by locals in their host communities, destroying crops and valuables. Attempts by farmers to prevent them from causing havoc are met with stiff and violent resistance. Most times, the farmers are overpowered, injured and killed, while others are evicted from their homes. Sometimes, the herdsmen are accused of taking these opportunities to steal, rape, raze houses and kill innocent members of the communities they pass through.

Responses from various stakeholders
Many Nigerians believe the president has deliberately shied away from commenting on the crisis, as it is widely known that he comes from the Fulani ethnic group. The inability of the Nigerian Police to contain them may spell greater doom for lives in susceptible areas.
_____________

The question is this - “Why are they violent?”
The nation of Fulani herdsmen is very large - all of them currently roaming around with an agenda to wipe out the purpose of God in Nigeria, in the guise of vengeance for cattle rustling

Psalm 2:1 - “Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing?” (NKJV)
“What fools the nations are to rage against the Lord! How strange that men should try to outwit God!” (TLB)

Psalm 2:2-8
The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,
Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
“Let us break Their bonds in pieces
And cast away Their cords from us.”
He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision.
Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
And distress them in His deep displeasure:
“Yet I have set My King
On My holy hill of Zion.”
I will declare the decree:
The Lord has said to Me,
‘You     are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.

The Lord sits in the heavens and laughs. He is not perturbed about the crisis in Nigeria. He is not running around looking for a solution. He is amused at their folly, because He has already made His Son JESUS both Lord and Christ.
Those who have right standing with God; those who have exchanged their old life for the righteous life of Christ, can now come confidently to Him with much assurance to ask for the salvation of this raging nation of Fulani herdsmen. This is God’s divine expectation. May His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Prayer Points: Ask of Me

  •  O Lord, You are God. Heaven is Your throne and earth is Your footstool.  You have said to Your Son: “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” Psalm 110:1. Lord, Jesus, we call upon You. You have authority on earth to compel Your enemies to their knees.
  • Lord, see the trail of destruction that is brought upon the nation of Nigeria – When You have suffered on the cross for all, including the nation of the Fulani Herdsmen.  Lord, You will see the travail of Your soul concerning them and be satisfied. “The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations.” Psalm 11:10. Please look upon the treats of the Fulani herdsmen and bring their counsel to nothing. Forbid them from continuing to perpetrate their wickedness all over Nigeria. O Lord, frustrate all their evil plans; incapacitate them, O God.
  • We agree with You that the purpose of God will be established in their midst. Bring to pass, Your determined counsel concerning each one of them.
  • “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Lord, let all the Fulani herdsmen know assuredly that You are the Lord and You are the Christ. Open our eyes to see that they have all been included in the crucified.
  • “For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.” Romans 14:11. Lord, we humbly ask of You to bring the nation of the Fulani herdsmen to their knees.  How you will do it, we don’t know. But we bring them before you as our responsibility. Stop them in their tracks and send forth Your Word to them to deliver them from the hand of the enemy of their souls.

Fulani Ministries
Fulani ministries reach out to other Fulani people with the Gospel of Christ across Africa.”The Fulani people are the largest unreached people group in the world. Over 99% have not had the chance to hear the Gospel for the first time. http://www.fulaniministries.org

"Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising." Isaiah 60: 1-3

Prayer Points:  Fulani Ministries

  • Thank the Lord for this ministry; thank the Lord for reserving His remnants among the Fulani people; Thank the Lord for these Fulani Christians who have arisen in their day to confront the darkness in their land.
  • Let us ask the Lord to make them effective in their vision and mission to reach the Fulani people with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Let us ask the Lord to fill His Fulani kingdom labourers with His Spirit and help them to arise and shine for His cause as they go from place to place to locate the Fulanis across Africa.
  • “The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” Isaiah 60:3. O Lord! Let Your Kingdom be established among the Fulani people; Please grant that families will come to the light of the glorious gospel through this Fulani ministry. Please grant that many Fulani herdsmen will come to You.
  • Let us declare the promise of God concerning them from Isaiah 60:22 - A little one among the Fulani people will become a thousand and a small one a great nation. You, the Lord will hasten it in its time. Amen.

Europe: A Little One Shall Become a Thousand -
Divine Mercy

Isaiah 60:22
“A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in its time.

Zachariah 4:6
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

Luke 1:23-38
And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Divine Mercy

Romans 9:16
So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. KJV
So God will choose anyone he decides to show mercy to, and His choice does not depend on what people want or try to do. ERV
And so God’s blessings are not given just because someone decides to have them or works hard to get them. They are given because God takes pity on those He wants to. TLB
Is that grounds for complaining that God is unfair? Not so fast, please. God told Moses, “I’m in charge of mercy. I’m in charge of compassion.” Compassion doesn’t originate in our bleeding hearts or moral sweat but in God’s mercy. MSG
It is obviously not a question of human will or human effort, but of divine mercy. PHILLIPS

God must show us mercy.
  • I will make you a thousand, not because you are willing.
  • I will make you a strong nation not because you are ready to run.
  • I will make you a thousand, not because you are praying and crying on HeartCry, seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
  • I will only make you a thousand when I show you mercy.
Who does God show mercy though?
  • A man who is already strong cannot become a strong nation.
  • A man who is resourceful in himself, who still has his legs cannot become a thousand.
  • Such a man is already full; he is already a thousand in his own sight.
  • There is nothing you and I have that will qualify us or attract God to us; NOTHING. We are dust and we should eat the dust before Him.
  • All we have and possess are actually the things that scare God away from us.
  • Though we have come to Calvary, though dead works have been buried and are still being buried, though we have drunk the New Wine and are still drinking, if the Lord does not show us mercy, this declaration will become a mere slogan.

Low Estate, Low Degree, Hungry Little One

Luke 1:47-48, 51-52 KJV
And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. He hath filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he hath sent empty away. He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy...
  • Not the importance estate, high status, culture and education of His handmaiden
  • The proud has no portion in this; the proud one will be scattered and cannot become a nation.
  • Nor the satisfied, the fulfilled, the self–sufficient, independent, self-righteous, over confident.
  • God cannot multiply the life that is not in low estate; it is the life that Satan exhibited in heaven that made the angels throw him out forever.
  • What God can multiply and expand and grow by the Holy Ghost is that one of extremely low degree, those who are hungry.
  • God can only multiply littleness; He cannot multiply greatness, He cannot feed those who are already full.
  • God can only show mercy to the man who is already down and out, who is at the end of himself, the end of his wisdom, the end of my organisation, the end of his calculation and his manipulation. He who is of low estate.

Prayer Points: Keep in the ICU of Mercy
  • Make me a man that is helpless to the point that You will have mercy on me.
  • Make me an object of Your mercy, O Lord; put me in the intensive care unit of Your mercy.
  • Do not let me graduate from the class of low estate; Do not let me graduate from the class of nothingness; do not let me graduate from littleness.
  • Lord, bring me down so that You can find in me a little one that You can multiply.
  • Cripple me until I know that if God does not help me, I am not helped.
  • Lord, make me remain little; not for a while, but for the whole time I will be on this side of eternity.
  • Lord, keep me in the intensive care unit of mercy so that I will not change my status from little to big.
  • Please do not let me experience any promotion that will take me away from that class of men and women that God can help.
  • Lord, let me be famished and hungry; let me starve for You. Increase my appetite and let me never be satisfied.
  • Take away any attraction that attracts men to me; block their eyes; let men forget me so that You may remember me.
Look upon me O Lord and be merciful unto me,
As Thou useth to do unto those who trust Your name.
Look upon me O Lord and be merciful unto me,
As Thou useth to do unto those who trust Your name.

Joshua, the Little One Who Became a Thousand

Joshua 5:13- 15
And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?
And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?
And the captain of the Lord’s host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.

The Commander is Here; Take Off Your Shoes
  • The Commander of the Lord’s army is here. God has opened this day for us, and there are many lands to conquer; many battles to fight in order to repossess what the enemy has stolen.
  • Ordinary bullets of the Word of God cannot penetrate the thick wickedness in our generation.
  • No one can penetrate and establish the kingdom of God if the Commander of the Lord’s army does not help us.
  • Yes, we have fought battles while in the wilderness, battles for passage.
  • Now we are about to enter the battles for possessions, battles that if you will and conquer, it will be recorded against your little name; against your small family in heaven.
  • The Holy Ghost has come and the first instruction is ‘OFF YOUR SHOES’.
  • Circumcised, yes. But your shoes are still on.
  • The Commander is here with divine strategies but if He meets you with your shoes on, He will jump over you.
  • We may not need to shoot any arrow when the Commander takes over and instructs us.

What Are These Shoes?

Shoes of intelligence and skill in living and in serving God
  • Remember, when Joshua started, he was with Moses whose shoes were off and what a revival Moses brought. The revival that left Egypt on its knees.
  • Moses was now dead and Joshua now had to take off his own shoes;  he was already wearing the shoes of his strategies as a man of war.
  • This battle cannot be won by skills and intelligence. The world’s skills and intelligence are no match for ours.
  • There are barriers that will not give way to your intelligence.
  • Our intelligence HQ is with the Holy Ghost, not our skills, understanding, knowledge.
  • Only a man whose shoes are off can receive the strategies and intelligence from the Holy Ghost.

Shoes of self-confidence, smartness, oratory skills, riches, natural wisdom
  • Jacob was intelligent; he always knew what to do; he always devises his own way.
  • If God does not help us, we will fall in the battlefield.
  • We cannot enter into God’s blessings if we do not take off our shoes.

Shoes of unbelief in the word,  the ability and the methodology of GOD
  • Naaman said, “I thought the man would come out and strike and heal the disease.”
  • Unbelief will not let you see the strategy of God for winning your battles.
  • Report at the feet of the Commander of the Lord’s army.

Shoes of past/or present experience, assessment and judgement
  • You cannot enter with your own personal ways, your nature. These are not matters of sin but they are the instrument of Mr. Flesh.

Shoes of self-righteousness, education, prowess, ability, money, wealth
  • They are filthy rags; they are dry cisterns that hold no water.
  • What are the shoes that I climb with whenever there is a difficulty?

What are the shoes that I quickly put on when battles confront me?
  • They must be permanently off. Joshua, although he took off his shoes for the battle of Jericho, he put them back on again for Ai and suffered for it.
  • We have been going round in circles in the wilderness because of these shoes and they have not helped us.
  • After Joshua removed his shoes, Chapter 6 opened with a great plan given by the master strategist, the Commander of the Lord’s army.
  • If we do not remove these shoes, we will perish in the wilderness and the unconquered lands that we ought to enter to become a thousand will be left in the hands of the enemy.

God Is Not Interested the Legs of a Man

Psalm 147:10-11
He delighted not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man. The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear Him,
in those that hope in His mercy.
KJV
He’s not impressed with horsepower; the size of our muscles means little to him. Those who fear God get God’s attention; they can depend on his strength. MSG
The speed of a horse is nothing to him. How puny in his sight is the strength of a man. But his joy is in those who reverence him, those who expect him to be loving and kind. TLB
God doesn’t prize the strength of a horse; God doesn’t treasure the legs of a runner. No. The Lord treasures the people who honour him, the people who wait for his faithful love. CEB
The Lord doesn’t care about the strength of horses or powerful armies. The Lord is pleased only with those who worship him and trust his love. CEV
