Ezekiel 47:1-12 (NIV)
The man brought me back to the entrance to the temple, and I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was coming down from under the south side of the temple, south of the altar. 2He then brought me out through the north gate and led me around the outside to the outer gate facing east, and the water was trickling from the south side.
3As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep. 4He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist. 5He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in—a river that no one could cross. 6He asked me, “Son of man, do you see this?”
Then he led me back to the bank of the river. 7When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each side of the river. 8He said to me, “This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, where it enters the Dead Sea. When it empties into the sea, the salty water there becomes fresh. 9Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live. 10Fishermen will stand along the shore; from En Gedi to En Eglaim there will be places for spreading nets. The fish will be of many kinds—like the fish of the Mediterranean Sea. 11But the swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt. 12Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.”

ABOUT POLAND
- Poland is a
country in Central Europe.
- It is on the
east of Germany, and it has Russia to the north.
- Population:
38.5 million people.
- Capital:
Warsaw
- The total
land area of Poland is about 312,679 km2
- In 1989,
Poland ceased being a communist country and became a liberal democracy.
- Regained
independence at the fall of the USSR in 1991
- Prime
minister: Premier Polski
- Belongs to:
Euroseptic law and justice party (PiS)
The first ruling dynasty, the Piasts, emerged by the 10th century AD. Duke Mieszko I (d. 992) is considered the de facto creator of the Polish state and adopted Western Christianity that followed his baptism in 966.
Millions of Polish citizens perished in the course of the Nazi occupation of Poland between 1939 and 1945 as Germany classified ethnic Poles and other Slavs, Jews and Romani (Gypsies) as subhuman. Nazi authorities targeted the last two groups for extermination in the short term.
The creation of the modern
Polish state, the Third Polish Republic, was founded in 1989.
BRIEF HISTORY
Poland, a former Eastern Bloc country, has had a tragic history. It has known wars, holocausts, and even 120 years where the people had no land to call their own.
During this time, the Catholic
Church provided unity and identity for the people. At one time, 97% of Poles
claimed membership in the Catholic Church and a powerful allegiance to their
own Polish pope - Pope John Paul II.
Since the fall of Communism in
1989, Poland’s economy has advanced rapidly, welcoming in Western business
cooperatives. This has led to a new level of commercialisation, as well as a
new set of values.
CHURCHES IN POLAND
- Roman
Catholics (65%), Christian Orthodox and Protestants (32%), and Jews (3%).
- The second
biggest church in Poland is the Polish Orthodox Church. It has more than
500,000 followers who live mainly in eastern part of Poland. They are
connected with the Belarusian minority.
- The community
of Protestants consists of around 120,000 believers, mostly Lutherans
(Evangelical-Augsburg Church).
- Polish
identity is rooted in its past. Some see Poland as the bulwark of
Christendom. If the Poles had not defeated the Muslim Crimean Tatars and
Turks during King Jan III Sobieski's raising of the Turkish siege of
Vienna in 1683, Christianity would have been supplanted by Islam.
- Women live in
a male-oriented society with few groups working to change the national
attitudes. They are subject to family violence at home and sexual
harassment in the work place. They also have less access to credit and
jobs. Very few women have achieved top leadership positions in politics,
business, and the professions.
- No Jobs for
Graduates.
- Poland joined
the European Union in 2004, Attendance in the Catholic Church since 1989
has been decreasing, by as much as 25%. Poland’s evangelical population
has grown slightly, but is still very small; all of Poland‘s 40,000
professing evangelical believers (approximately 1 out of 1,000) would fit
into a large sports stadium.
- Denominations
like the Brethren Assemblies, the Baptist Union, the Pentecostal Church,
and the Evangelical Free Church are viewed by most Poles as sects.

ye reconciled to God. 21For
he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the
righteousness of God in him.
- Father,
please send forth into Poland the true ambassadors of Christ, exposing and
expounding the word of Truth.
- Do away with
every evil doctrine and bring down men (thieves) that do not
represent You at all.
Ephesians 2:14-15

And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.
- Even here on
earth there is a divide between Light and darkness. Lord, let the people
of Poland be light; let there be a separation between them and the Vatican
and let the light of the true gospel spread.
- Lord, bring
about a breaking between the Catholics in Poland and the Papacy. Let there
be a divide between them. Let there be a gulf. Let the tear between them
be made larger and until there is a total separation.
- Let the eyes
of the Polish people be opened to see that they have been deceived all
their lives and for generations.
The Spirit of God was brooding over the face of the waters.
- Spirit of God

- A quote from
one in Polish Economist magazine: “I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again:
the important European thinkers of the next generation will be religious,
not left-wing and secular.” Let us pray on this. We take it to mean -
"Let the next generation be for Christ."
- Lord, please
fill Europe with men that fear You.
