MATTERS ARISING
- The Federal Government is executing projects using loans from the Islamic Bank.
- Mr President travelled to Chad, Niger, Benin Rep, Qatar, Saudi-Arabia, Editorial Guinea, Iran, Egypt, UAE since his inauguration.
- Control and sale of foreign exchange is now run by black market operators - who are Muslims.
- Three social bloggers were arrested for questioning because of their criticism of the government. Fading era of free speech.
- No arrest has been made till date for culprits responsible for the killings of Christians in Benue, Kaduna and Enugu.
- Three Muslim men positively identified for beheading a Christian woman in Kano by her husband were discharged of the offence on the orders of the Attorney General. What does this say to you?
- El Rufai has threatened to arrest anyone who makes false allegations about the Kaduna killings.
- In Port Harcourt, there has been and still is an influx of northerners infiltrating homes and public jobs - drivers, security men, gate men.
Esther 8:1-16
Vs. 3
We cannot stand aloof, be indifferent or be at ease in Zion. Esther had revealed her identity at this point. The decree to annihilate all Jews (God’s people) was global not just localised.
We, the Esthers, must fall down at the Lord’s feet in prayers; beseech Him with tears to counteract the evil and the scheme devised by Haman against Nigeria.
- Lord, be my vision and wisdom. Evil must not prevail whilst I’m on duty.
- Qualify us to stand in the gap concerning kingdom matters not just merely our needs. Burden us most of all to see Your Will done and Your kingdom come.
- Give us hearts that seek to counteract every evil written concerning Christ and Him crucified.
Vs. 6
Our hearts must bleed concerning Nigeria; how can be at ease; why should we stand aloof whilst the enemy destroys God’s nation and people.
- Make us deep women, pregnant with, conceiving and nurturing God’s counsel.
Vs. 4/8
The Lord, out of the multitude of His love and mercy, has held out the golden sceptre to us.
The Lord is giving us permission to re-write laws/decree in His name with His ring. This cannot be reversed.
- When the sceptre of God’s love, mercy and loving kindness is held out to us, help us make request that will further Your kingdom and gospel.
- Make us bold to ask for that which completely cripples evils so that evil is reversed.
- When the opportunity comes to be visible, please help us defer to the Mordecai’s. Esther was content to be silent labourers.
Vs. 5
Esther’s petition was a letter to reverse all that Haman has planned against the Jews.
- Grace to arise and demand on our knees for superior laws/decrees which reverse evil, please grant unto us.
Vs. 7
Even though the enemies of the Jews were hanged, his imprint in the letter/decree remained valid.
- Help us Esthers and Mordecais to prevail with on our knees until God’s glory burst forth.
- May we never be satisfied until God reign supreme in the hearts of all men.
Vs. 9
Scribes were called in and letters were sent unto every province according to their language.
Provinces- i.e. Education, Government, Media, Politics, Health, Commerce etc.
- Lord of the harvest, please raise Mordecais that will be dispatched across every province seeking only to re-instate LIGHT.
Vs.10
Mordecai’s writings was irreversible and upheld only because it was written in the king’s name and sealed with the king’s ring. Give us Mordecais who will only re-write laws/decrees/curriculum in Jesus’ name not their own.
- Mordecais that will only act and write decrees in the King’s name. Mordecais who know and submit to the authority of Jesus Christ and also human disciplers.
- Mordecais who the Esthers will defer to in reversing error but will never touch God’s glory or use the privilege to make a name for themselves.
Vs. 11
Liberty, authority, boldness, courage by the Jews to subdue darkness; and to uphold justice and righteousness.
- Divine and lasting legacies only come about as our Mordecais follow according to the pattern shown them. Give them a heart that is broken, contrite and trembles at God’s Word.
Vs. 16
Joy, light, gladness, conversions and reverential fear of God and the people of God was the result.
- Lord, show forth Your power and outstretched arm in our days. Grant us the privilege to see Your glory cover the nations. Bend us and bring revival to the nations. Amen.
