He shall judge among the heathen; he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.

He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore, shall he lift the head.

Acts 18:2

A certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla;(because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.

• Sister Priscilla was an exile, a stranger, a foreigner, a pilgrim who had been sent out of her own country.
• As a refugee, her life could not have been easy, certainly not in the initial period they were sent out.
• There was no indication that they were believers when they took Paul in, the Scripture said they were of the same trade, tent makers.
• Paul continued in Corinth for a year and six months, living in Priscilla’s house.
• By the end of that time Priscilla has believed and become the gospel that Paul preached.
• So much so that Paul took her husband and herself with him on his next journey.
• He left them in Ephesus to cater for the church in Ephesus while he went to Jerusalem.

Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus

The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.

2 Timothy 4:19

Salute Priscilla and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus

• She opened her house to all the brethren, if you were in town and you needed somewhere to stay, no problem you know at whatever time you got to sis Priscilla's house you had a warm bed and some food.
• She worked hand in hand with her husband to raise a church in their house.
• She spotted this young man who needed a handler, a disicpler, and she took in Apollos who under her husband’s hand was taught the mystery of the gospel.
• She prayed many into the kingdom and laboured in prayer until Christ was formed in them.
• How many people went through Sis Priscilla’s hand and home? Only eternity will tell.
• She did not have an office, a title or a ministry yet she was a mother of many, a rod in God’s hand used in the early church to bring many to maturity in Christ.
• Incidentally, there was no mention of her own children, perhaps she did not have any; or did she?
• Difficult as her life was, traumatic as it was for her to be thrown out of her home as a Jew, this woman was not seating down nursing her wounds.
• Childless as she may have been, she was not weeping for her lot in life, she was not focussing on that situation as soon as she received the gospel from Paul and believed, she set out to work and fulfil her own part in the preaching of the gospel.
• She served under her husband, deferring to her husband, following his lead under the hand of Paul.
• No complaints, no moaning, no recourse, no catering to her own needs, her own security, her own life, she was sold out completely.
• She was a woman submitted to and under her husband’s God given authority, she received and obeyed instructions from him as he received from Paul.

SHE WAS A DEAD WOMAN WALKING, ALLOWING CHRIST TO DO HIS OWN THING INSIDE OF HER LIFE.

• Priscilla was available for God to use as He pleases.
• Priscilla was accessible to God, He could call her to get up and go at any time and she would obey.
• Priscilla as reachable by God, she was easy to reach, easy to get to, easy to get hold of by her Lord.
• Priscilla was at hand and on hand for her Master, after the Lord had emptied her of the old man that dominated her. She also presented her body, her body parts, her husband, her home, her life, her time, her security, they were no longer hers because she died.
• She had smashed her life up before her Master, so He took hold of her life and raised for Himself other lives through her. Multiplied disciples were raised through her life and  nations released from her womb.

THE QUESTION FOR US TODAY IS, ARE YOU AS AN INDIVIDUAL EVACUATED OF THE OLD MAN AND AVAILABLE FOR YOUR MASTER’S USE?

Prayer Points

• These prayers are for those who are ready to make this commitment of availability to their Master.
• If you are one of us who has died already at the cross, please begin to offer your cadaver, your carcass to your Master.
• Offer Him your evacuated body, if you have not emptied it yet, empty it before the Lord this day and hand it over to Him deliberately with your own mouth.
• Tell your Master, Lord I am available, I am your Priscilla, take hold of all of me, all that I am, all that I was, these are all at your disposal.
• Lord Jesus inside of me, please instruct me on how to serve under the hand of my husband and defer to him, not be his instructor but rather his student. SoThat together we may become the Aquila and Priscilla to those the Lord will bring along our way.
• Lord Jesus inside me, please instruct me on how to serve my husband so that without a word, he will be won to this way of Calvary and together we will serve you. While I am waiting, I am available and at your disposal for you to live your life and bring many to Calvary through this life of mine.
• Lord in my singleness instruct me on how to serve not as a loose cannon but as a woman under authority, bringing many to the way of Calvary.
• Pick up your pen and book if you have not done so, write the list of all your family members, friends, and colleagues who are yet to hear the message of the cross the way the Lord has presented it to you. Let those who already have a list, please update it and pray like this:
• Lord, break every barrier, blockade, barricade, wall set up against the gospel in the hearts of the people on my list.
• Lord, remove every veil of deception, every fragmented gospel that our people have received, believed, imbibed and become.
• When the heart turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Father, please turn these hearts to You, begin a work in the hearts of our people.
• Make them restless, agitated in their spirit about the state of their lives.
• Break their hearts with genuine repentance and let them begin to cry out for help; Lord, I am available, when it is time, direct me to them. Lead them to me, so I can share the mystery of the gospel by my words and by my life in Jesus name. Amen.

We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned.

Psalm 90:1-2 NKJV

Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. ² Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

•       The Lord reigns over the entire nation of Nigeria – over every soul; over every circumstance; over every problem  in families, over the state of the economy, over the government; everything and everyone.

•       From everlasting to everlasting, the Lord  is God in Nigeria. He brought forth Nigeria for Himself and He knows exactly what to do to bring eternal glory to His name, in spite of the impossible situations that abound. There is hope for Nigeria.

•       Let us announce the Lord’s reign over Nigeria. Give Him thanks because He has taken His GREAT POWER  and REIGNED.

•       Lord, every soul and everything in Nigeria was created through You and for You; all thrones, dominions, principalities and powers  in this nation are subject to You. You are the Lord and You reign on high.

•       You see every situation; You know every heart and You know what to do to deliver the people of Nigeria. Have Your way in every heart.

•       Psalm 139:7-10. Where can the souls of men in Nigeria go from Your Spirit? Where can they flee from Your presence? If they go up to the heavens, You are there. If they make their bed in the depths, You are there. If they rise on the wings of the dawn, if they settle in the far side of the sea; even there, Your hand will guide them, Your right hand will hold then fast.

•       You are the head of the body, the church. Rule and reign over Your church in Nigeria. Take the preeminence and bring to birth by Your Spirit, new creation men, all over the nation.

Colossians 1:12-14 NKJV

¹² giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. ¹³ He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, ¹⁴ in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

•       Lord, show Your mighty power over the souls of men in Nigeria; deliver men from the power of darkness and make them partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.

•       Psalm 139:11-12. If they say, “Surely, the darkness will hide me, and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to You.  The night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to You. The darkness of the nation of Nigeria is not too dark for You. Please reveal Christ to Your people and save them according to Your glorious power.

•       Psalm 57:3. Send from heaven and save the people of Nigeria. Every soul is included in the redemption through Your blood. Send forth Your mercy, Your love, Your faithfulness and Your truth; establish Your reign over the nation of Nigeria, by virtue of the finished work of the cross.

•      We agree with this prophesy concerning Nigeria:

Micah 4:1-3 NKJV – The Lord’s Reign in Zion:

•       Now it shall come to pass in the latter days
That the mountain of the Lord’s house
Shall be established on the top of the mountains,
And shall be exalted above the hills;
And peoples shall flow to it.
² Many nations shall come and say,
“Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
He will teach us His ways,
And we shall walk in His paths.”
For out of Zion the law shall go forth,
And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
³ He shall judge between many peoples,
And rebuke strong nations afar off;
They shall beat their swords into plowshares,
And their spears into pruning hooks;
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
Neither shall they learn war anymore.

•       So shall it be in Nigeria in the name of Jesus – Amen.

Corruption in Nigeria

Genesis 6:11-12 NKJV

The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. ¹² So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.

•       Corruption in the lives of the people in a nation is what makes the nation corrupt.

•       The blatant corruption in Nigeria is well documented. Wikipedia presents many theories for the cause of the corruption in Nigeria:

–      “Some blame greed and ostentatious lifestyles as a potential root cause of corruption.”

–      “another major cause of corruption is ethnicity called tribalism in Nigeria.”

–      “Some analysts have also blamed colonialism for the amount corruption.”

–      But we know that the corruption is inside man. It is inherited from the sinful nature. “…their corruption is in them, and defects are in them.” Leviticus 22:25.

•       The problem of Nigeria is the Nigerian. Sin is the root cause of corruption inside the Nigerian and the gospel is only instrument that can root it out.

The Gospel is the Hope for Nigeria

Romans 1:16 NKJV

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

•       Nigeria was 56 on the 1^st of October 2016. It was reported on that day that the attempts to restructure Nigeria are unending. (Read more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/10/nigeria-56-unending-attempts-to-restructure-nigeria/)

•       Why? The nation is looking for transformation through infrastructure, education,  political stability, financial stability, technological advancement, a constant supply of water, an unhindered supply of electricity e.t.c.

•       The gospel is the only effective weapon that can change Nigerians from the inside.

•       Many people are calling for change in Nigeria and declaring themselves as agents of change but they do not realise that the power for transformation is the gospel.

•       For any genuine transformation in this generation, the gospel must be preached again in its fullness.

Prayer Points| The Gospel is the Hope for Nigeria

Isaiah 53:12 NKJV

And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.

Colossians 1:14-18 NKJV

 …in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

•       Lord, You bore the sin of every transgressor in Nigeria and You made intersessions for each transgressor. Bring us into Your intersession by Your Spirit.

•       By virtue of the finished work of the cross, we ask for the soul of every man in Nigeria to come to the cross for the death of their corrupt nature.

•       We stand in the gap for Your people. Hear the groaning of their hearts caused by the burden of their sinful nature. Bring what You did on the cross to bear in their lives.

•       Let the gospel, the only weapon that can bring genuine transformation, be known.

•       Show Your power over the nation of Nigeria.  Be merciful to Your people. Many do not even know what the lack, so they cannot seek You. Help them to seek Your face.

Ezekiel 36:26 NKJV

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

•       Lord, send Your word to every heart and help them to believe the gospel. Open their eyes to see their deliverance from the their corrupt life.

•       Take away their heart of stone and give them the heart of Jesus, through the power of the gospel.

•       Let the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ be preached in its fullness in the life of every Nigerian. Open their ears and let them hear. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

•       2 Chronicles 16:9. For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.   Lord, you are looking for those who You can commit Your gospel to in order to preach it in Nigeria; those who will be the answer to the cry for transformation.

•       Work on the lives on such men and make them usable for Your purpose in Nigeria.

HE IS THE LORD

He is the Lord, and He reigns on high,

He is the Lord.

Spoke into the darkness, created the light,

He is the Lord.

Who is like unto Him, never ending in days?

He is the Lord.

And He comes in power when we call on His name,

He is the Lord.

Show Your power, O Lord our God,

Your gospel, O Lord, is the hope of this nation,

You are the Lord.

It’s the power of God for our salvation,

You are the Lord.

We ask not for riches, but look to the cross,

Europe: Give Me This Mountain - The European Church

This Old Man

• After the fall, all the principles of life including education, societal norms, idioms, cultures, philosophies, values, beliefs, ways of life, ideas, standards, morals, customs, concepts, outlook, ethics, learning, home training, views, opinions, governments, financials and relationships were set up by the old man to allow for him to operate freely in and among men.

• The enemy sets the agenda for his purpose and uses all the above to execute, maintain and propagate his agenda from one generation to the other.

• Once a principle has been set, he goes to work very quickly to infiltrate every area of human existence with this lie until that principle becomes a norm; becomes acceptable behaviour and the church is not spared. E.g. abortion.

• These principles are a direct affront and opposition to God, to His position, to His direction and His declaration about the subject in question.

• The church is meant to speak and shine against this onslaught of darkness.

The European Church

• The Bishop of Grantham has become the first Church of England bishop to say that he is gay and in a relationship.

• Bishop Nicholas Chamberlain, a suffragan in Lincoln diocese, was consecrated last year by Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby - who has said he knew about the bishop's sexuality. He said, "He lives within the bishops' guidelines and his sexuality is completely irrelevant to his office.“

• Susie Leafe, the chairwoman of the conservative evangelical group Reform said, "All human beings have a range of complex desires; who he is attracted to should not make any difference to his ability to do the job of a bishop." 

• Dr Barry Morgan, the Archbishop of Wales, says that sex between gay people in committed relationships is perfectly “proper.” Even Biblical texts often cited as condemning homosexuality, such as the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah with fire and brimstone, could be “interpreted in more than one way”, he said. Read as a whole, it is not possible to argue that there is “one settled understanding of what the Bible says” on sexuality and a range of other topics, he claimed.

• Following wide consultation, the Methodist Conference in 2014 agreed that more time was needed for careful reflection before deciding whether to look again at our understanding of marriage. Same-sex marriage is not the only consideration. There are wider issues in relation to human relationships in the modern world which may or may not lead the church to reconsider our definition of marriage.

The Enemy is Knocking/Pressing on the Door

"But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, where are the men which came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may know them. And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,

And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door." (Genesis 19:4-9)

His Aim is the Family - The Unit of the Church

"But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt." (Genesis 19:26) 

"And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth: Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father." (Genesis 19:31- 32) 

• Dead works deposited in the lives of the girls have become amplified now in the absence of their mother.

• Sinful habits, principles, cultures, philosophies, values, beliefs, ways of life, ideas, standards, collected in Sodom and Gomorrah which were not buried by the mother were transferred to the daughters and now they became enlarged, augmented, increased, bigger and greater than they were in the mother.

The Last Adam Most Superior

"Thus it is written, The first man Adam became a living being (an individual personality); the last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving Spirit [restoring the dead to life]." (1 Corinthians 15:45)

• The New Man is most superior to the old man; He gives life and awakens all that is dead. He lights up the darkness that the old man has sown so far in our lives and in the church of God.

• One day, one week, one month, one year, a lifetime of living, carrying, obeying, allowing the New Man inside of us to manifest will dismantle all that the old man has done for years in our lives and centuries within the church.

I Die Daily…By Faith

"Always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies." (2 Corinthians 4:10)

• We died; we truly died; we know we have been crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20); we saw Jesus evidently crucified before us (Galatians 3:1) when we trusted and believed the gospel preached to us. It was by faith.

• Yet we must carry this death around with us everywhere, anywhere, on a daily, moment by moment basis by faith.

• My death is not a once in a lifetime achievement, but a continuous daily process.

• As we hang there on the cross by faith (for example, by being mute when we are abused, our by burying previous angry responses out of sight), we ask Him how He wants to respond. The resurrection life will then shoot out and Jesus will manifest Himself in that situation to the people around.

• The point of our death on the cross is the point where the resurrection life will come forth.

• Individual and collective DEATH will produce the RESURRECTION LIFE that will birth the revival that will transform Europe.

Revive Thy Work O Lord!

"O Lord, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy." (Habakkuk 3:2)

• We are asking for a miracle; we are asking that the Lord will remember mercy. 

• We (the church), have pushed Him; we have accosted Him; what an affront both in our individual lives, in our families and in the church collectively.

• We are asking for mercy this afternoon. Lord, in Your wrath remember mercy.

Prayers for Your Family

• Lord, have mercy on my household; have mercy on us. Let the gospel work fully and completely in my life first, then it will engulf every member of my family.

• Teach me to carry the death, the burial, the resurrection of Christ in my body daily.

• Have mercy upon my household, I beseech you this; turn towards us with mercy and rescue us from this onslaught of Satan.

• Deliver my household from this "pressing at the door";  secure my household inside of Christ.

• Lord, circumcise our hearts with the gospel that we are receiving now and uproot any familial dead works or collective family sinful habits that have been deposited in our family.

• Pull down every structure, principle, education, societal norm, idiom, culture, philosophy, value, belief, way of life, idea, standard, moral, custom, concept, outlook, ethic, learning, home training, view, opinion, sinful habit, dead work, that the old man has deposited up till now in my household; dismantle them or Lord.
• Instruct and teach me; give me definite instructions on (what, how, when) you want to work in and through me to dismantle them in my household in Jesus' name. 

Prayers for the Church 

• Lord, have mercy on Your church; have mercy on us. Let the gospel be restated afresh, again and anew.

• Have mercy upon us, O Lord; we beseech You this morning, turn towards us with mercy and rescue us from this onslaught of Satan.

• Deliver Your church from this "pressing at the door"; secure those who are Your true church inside of Christ.

• Send the correct and complete gospel afresh to Your people, O Lord. We pray to dismantle every deposit, structure, principle, education, societal norm, idioms, culture, philosophy, value, belief, way of life, idea, standard, moral, custom, concept, outlook, ethic, learning, home training, view and opinion of Satan in the church.

• Pull down every structure, principle, false gospel and adulterated gospel, that Satan is pushing forcefully upon us. Dismantle them, O Lord.

• Please Lord, mercy is what we cry for. Rescue us, save us, O Lord. 

The 'Obadiahs' of the Church are Still in Hiding 

"And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the Lord greatly: For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the Lord, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)" (1 Kings 18:3-4).

"Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him." (1 Kings 19:18).

• There are many 'Obadiahs' and many 'seven thousands' in every nation in Europe, in every denomination, church and christian organisation.

Prayer Points

• O God! Please hasten the day that the Holy Spirit will fully come as a rushing mighty wind    upon Europe.

• Revive Thy work, O Lord, in the midst of the years.

• Holy Spirit, baptise afresh Your 'Obadiahs' in the European Church. Holy Spirit, baptise afresh Your 'seven thousands' in the European Church.

• Holy Spirit, please bring Your 'Obadiahs' out of obscurity. Holy Spirit, please bring Your 'seven thousands' out of hiding. Holy Spirit, propel us into the limelight to blaze the message of the cross.

• Holy Spirit, You have them in government, in education, in finance, on the pulpit, in politics, in   the palaces, in the schools, in the health sector, in the market and retail sector, in the media.

• Holy Spirit, galvanise Your 'Obadiahs' to arise from their slumber, from their fear and from their sleep. Holy Spirit, mobilise Your 'seven thousands' to arise from their slumber, from their fear and from their sleep.

• Holy Spirit, please fall afresh upon my household. We wait for You; we are waiting for You.

¹⁰ and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” 

¹³ Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?”

¹⁴ And I said to him, “Sir, you know.”

So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

²⁷ All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.²⁸ For the kingdom is the Lord's: and he is the governor among the nations.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15

 ¹⁴ For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; ¹⁵ and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

•       Nigeria is the Lord’s, including all the tribes and people groups in Nigeria.

•       God has not relinquished His ownership of Nigeria to anyone, to any power or to any authority.

•       God is the One who is the Governor among the nation of Nigeria. He controls the  government, kings, those in positions of authority and all the people.

•       Every single Nigerian is included in the death of Christ on the Cross. God’s plan and expectation is that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Christ.

•       Every tribe and people group in Nigeria will remember the sacrifice of Christ and turn unto the Lord; they will worship before Him.

We know that God’s power is unlimited.

Job 42:2
AMP –“I know that You can do all things, And that no thought or purpose of Yours                                          can be restrained.”

TLB – “I know that you can do anything and that no one can stop you.”

CEV – “No one can oppose you, because you have the power to do what you want.”

Psalm 86:8-9 KJV

⁸ Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.⁹ All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.

•       Nothing and no one can stop, hinder, restrain or oppose what God has purposed to do in making multitudes of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues come to Him through the gospel of Christ– it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. (Romans 1:16)

•       We are in the presence God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. (Eph 3:20).

•       This is our request: Come in Your great might and arise over the thick darkness that is still brooding over the tribes and people group in Nigeria. Arise and never set.

Prayer Points | O Lord, Arise

•       Thank God for His ownership, unlimited power and authority over the nation of Nigeria; power to save, power to deliver, power to bring every tribe and people group in Nigeria before His throne.

•       Thank God for the message of the cross; for the gospel of Christ, the power that brings all men to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

•       Thank the Lord that nothing and no one can stop, hinder, restrain or oppose what He has purposed to do in making multitudes of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues come to Him through the gospel of Christ–

•       Lord, please have mercy on the people of Nigeria.  Go from tribe to tribe; visit every people group. Cause them to hear the complete gospel message and turn to You in repentance. 

•       O Lord, arise over the nation of Nigeria. Come in Your great might to bring salvation to the people. Come in Your great might and arise over the thick darkness that is still brooding over the tribes and people groups in Nigeria.

•       Cause every tribe and people group in Nigeria to will know You and to remember Your sacrifice on the cross.  Send Your messengers who will preach to them in their own language.

•       O Lord, Nigeria is Yours. You are the Governor among the nations and no one can oppose you, because you have the power to do what you want.

•       Arise, O Morning Star; Arise and never set in the nation of Nigeria.

The Work of the Holy Spirit

¹When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. ² And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 

³ Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

⁵ And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. 

⁶ And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. 

⁷ Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? 

⁸ And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? 

⁹ Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, ¹⁰ Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, ¹¹ Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.

John 20:21-22 NKJV

²¹ So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” ²² And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

•       Jesus is the One who prepares the preachers that He sends out. He breathed on His disciples and they became powerful witnesses.

•       The Holy Spirit came again to fill them on the Day of Pentecost. Becoming of ONE heart and ONE soul is also the work of the Holy Spirit. With great power, the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.

•       They began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.  Everyone heard them speak the wonderful works of God in his own language. 

•       It is the work of the Holy Spirit that will ensure that every tribe and ethnic group in Nigeria will hear the complete gospel in their own language.

Prayer Points | The Work of the Holy Spirit

•       Holy Spirit, please breathe upon your disciples in Nigeria and make them to become effective witnesses of the Lord Jesus Christ.

•       Help your missionaries labouring among the tribes in Nigeria. Fill them afresh with Your Holy Spirit so that through them, the unbelievers will hear the gospel in their own language, in the manner in which they will understand. Let them be cut to the heart and say,  “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”

•       Holy Spirit, come down and manifest Your power.  Do a work amongst your disciples in Nigeria so that they can be of one heart and one soul, as with the disciples in the upper room. Establish them in the complete gospel so that they can preach Jesus from their lives.

•       Holy Spirit, please make the purpose of Christ’s death become suddenly clear to those who have heard the gospel in Nigeria. Bring understanding. Help them to see that it is so that henceforth they should no longer live for themselves but for Christ who died for us and rose again. (2 Cor. 5:15).

•       Let there be preachers of the complete gospel in every language of every tribe in Nigeria. Please let disciples multiply in Nigeria.
