Nigeria: Revive Us Again!

Join This HeartCry Prayer- Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 11.30am -1.30pm (UK Time)

Habakkuk 3:2 (NKJV)

O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid;
O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years!
In the midst of the years make it known;
In wrath remember mercy.

Prayer Burden

Matthew 24:3-14 (NKJV)

3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Therefore, we are asking the Lord for:
  • This gospel of the kingdom to be preached in all of Nigeria – to be restated by the Church until it becomes widespread knowledge.
  • His mercy to prevail resulting in national repentance.
  • Multiplication of genuine disciples of Jesus Christ to establish His purpose in every place.
  • Revival of souls in Nigeria.

Problems in Nigeria

Tribalism
Corruption
Boko Haram / Fulani Herdsmen
Unemployment
Domestic violence
Population

This is the ‘impossible’ environment in which this gospel must be preached.

God’s promises to us:

Isaiah 60:22
“A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in his time.”

Zechariah 4:6
“…Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”

Obadiah 17
“But upon Mount Zion, there shall be deliverance and there shall be holiness; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.”

Obadiah 21
“And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord's.”

Prayer for Ourselves as Burden Bearers

Luke 1:26-38 (NKJV)

26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. 30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”
35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren.

37 For with God nothing will be impossible.” 38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

  • Lord, I present myself before You as one who has received the truth of this gospel. Thank You for the cross that destroyed the life of sin in me. Thank You for Your precious blood that cleanses me. I receive by faith that You became a man to redeem me and show me the only life acceptable to God, the only life that can bear Your burden. Have Your way in me as You did with Mary.
  • Lord, have please have mercy on me. Let me find favour in Your sight. Holy Spirt, come upon me afresh. Let Your power overshadow me, that I would know that it is no longer I who lives but Christ, the Holy One, who lives in me. It is no longer I who is praying but Christ who is praying through me.
  • Ecclesiastes 9:4 - “But for him who is joined to all the living there is hope, for a living dog is better than a dead lion.” Lord, You succeeded with Mary and the saints of old over the generations. This is my time to rise up. Help me to rise up to fulfill my call. Let everything that the cross came to accomplish be established in my life. Help me to take heed to this gospel which I have received.
  • Lord, I believe. Help me to know that with You, nothing is impossible. Help me to know that the situation in Nigeria is not impossible for You. Behold me as the maidservant of the Lord. Let it be to me according to Your Word.

Prayer for Nigeria

Ezra 9:1-9 (NKJV)

When these things were done, the leaders came to me, saying, “The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, with respect to the abominations of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites. 2 For they have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, so that the holy seed is mixed with the peoples of those lands. Indeed, the hand of the leaders and rulers has been foremost in this trespass.” 3 So when I heard this thing, I tore my garment and my robe, and plucked out some of the hair of my head and beard, and sat down astonished. 4 Then everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel assembled to me, because of the transgression of those who had been carried away captive, and I sat astonished until the evening sacrifice.

5 At the evening sacrifice I arose from my fasting; and having torn my garment and my robe, I fell on my knees and spread out my hands to the Lord my God. 6 And I said: “O my God, I am too ashamed and humiliated to lift up my face to You, my God; for our iniquities have risen higher than our heads, and our guilt has grown up to the heavens. 7 Since the days of our fathers to this day we have been very guilty, and for our iniquities we, our kings, and our priests have been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, to plunder, and to humiliation, as it is this day. 8 And now for a little while grace has been shown from the Lord our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a peg in His holy place, that our God may enlighten our eyes and give us a measure of revival in our bondage.

9 For we were slaves. Yet our God did not forsake us in our bondage; but He extended mercy to us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to revive us, to repair the house of our God, to rebuild its ruins, and to give us a wall in Judah and Jerusalem.

  • Lord, please extend Your hand of mercy to us in Nigeria. Our iniquities have risen higher than our heads and our guilt grown up to the heavens. Please forgive us and heal our land.
  • Lord, revive every soul, repair the house of God in Nigeria and rebuild its ruins. Give us a peg in Your holy place and cause this gospel of the kingdom to take root in the nation.
  • Let there be a multiplication of disciples. Let a little one of them become a thousand according to Your word. Give increase to Your Word and raise correct disciples that are sharpened to make a difference.
  • Give us correct pulpits that preach this gospel – Christ and Him crucified – so that the people can learn Christ and grow to become like Jesus through discipleship. Uproot every false gospel in the name of Jesus.

HYMN: REVIVE US AGAIN

We praise Thee, O God!
For the Son of Thy love,
For Jesus Who died,
And is now gone above.

Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Hallelujah! Amen.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Revive us again.

We praise Thee, O God!
For Thy Spirit of light,
Who hath shown us our Savior,
And scattered our night.

All glory and praise
To the Lamb that was slain,
Who hath borne all our sins,
And hath cleansed every stain.

All glory and praise
To the God of all grace,
Who hast brought us, and sought us,
And guided our ways.

Revive us again;
Fill each heart with Thy love;
May each soul be rekindled

With fire from above.

Nigeria: The Cross, Our Deliverance

Join This HeartCry Prayer- Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 11.30am -1.30pm (UK Time)

Isaiah 49:24-26 (KJV)
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
25 But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.
26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Lord, we believe.

Luke 1:45 (KJV)
45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

  • All souls belong to God – over 186 million in Nigeria. (Ezekiel 18:4)
  • All were created for His pleasure. (Revelation 4:11)
  • The law of sin within operating within the people keeps them captive to sin and cannot do the will of God.

Romans 7:22-23 (KJV)
For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

But there is a law that sets free…

Romans 8:2 (NKJV)
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

The Cross, Our Deliverance
The cross is the only means of delivering the lawful captive of sin, the prey of the terrible.
The cross is the only means of incapacitating the oppressor.

Romans 8:3-4 (NKJV)
For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Prayer: Thank You for the Cross!
  • O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! (Romans 7:24-25a).
  • Thank You for sending Your Son in the likeness of sinful flesh on account of sin. Thank You for delivering me from the body of death. Thank You for setting me free to live for You.
  • Help me to walk in the light of the liberty You have given me. Grace to live according to the Spirit, please grant unto me.
  • Pray for all in the souls in Nigeria that have had a revelation of their deliverance by the cross. Ask the Lord to establish them in the truth.

Prayer: Souls Yet to Encounter the Cross

Isaiah 49:24-26 (KJV)
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
25 But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. 26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

  • By virtue of the finished work of the cross, we make an appeal for every soul in Nigeria. We ask for the deliverance of every lawful captive.
  • “…If one died for all, then were all dead:  And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again…” (1 Corinthians 5:14b-15)
  • Lord, it is Your desire to set all men free to live for You. We bring every soul to Nigeria before You. Contend with with the enemy of their soul. Save them and save their children.
  • Let all flesh in the nation know that You are the Saviour, the Redeemer and the mighty One of Jacob.

Prayer: Souls Yet to Encounter the Cross

Romans 10:14-15 (NKJV)
How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent?
As it is written:
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!”

  • Let us ask the Lord for men and women with the beautiful feet of Jesus, who will blaze about the good news of the deliverance of the cross all over Nigeria – from Sokoto to Calabar, from Maiduguri to Lagos…
  • “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” (Habakkuk 2:14)
  • Let us ask the Lord for the revelation of what Christ did on the cross become widespread in Nigeria according to His promise.
  • Let us ask the Lord for a multiplication of disciples in Nigeria according to His promise that a little one shall become a thousand and a small one a strong nation. Hasten it, O Lord, we pray.

Prayer: The Church in Nigeria

The enemy has risen up like a flood against the church in Nigeria.
We have seen what the congregation of Zion has turned into – no power, no love, no passion.

Isaiah 59:19 (KJV)
So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
  • Lord, as Your disciples in Nigeria begin to arise and multiply, let the fear of the Lord come upon the church again.
  • Let us pray for the Spirit of the Lord to lift up a standard against the enemy – against the flood of mammon, worldliness and false doctrines.

Prayer: The Church in Nigeria

Mark 10:46-48 (NKJV)
46 Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
48 Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called
  • Lord, as Your disciples in Nigeria begin to arise and multiply, let all who have been blinded by the devil receive sight. Let those like blind Bartimaeus, sitting on the road using beggarly means, begin to hear the gospel.
  • Lord, as You went to Jericho with Your disciples, please visit every congregation in Nigeria. Put a hunger in the hearts of Your people and let them begin to cry for mercy.
  • “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Let Your people wake up to the poverty of their spirit, to begin to realise what human nature has deprived them of so that they can cry persistently until they gain the attention of Jesus.

Prayer: Spiritual Leadership

The church in Nigeria has suffered because of a lack of spiritual leaders whose lives are patterned after complete the gospel.

Romans 6:3-4 (NKJV)
Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

  • Lord, root out the natural (carnal) leaders and give us spiritual leaders that lead like their Master, Jesus.
  • Leaders who are baptised into the death of Christ, who are buried with Him, who are raised with Him and walking in newness of life.
  • Give us men of God who can link men to God in order to get their inheritance.
  • Lord, show mercy to the Church in Nigeria in the name of Jesus.

SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER

Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief,
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare,
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
The joys I feel, the bliss I share,
Of those whose anxious spirits burn
With strong desires for thy return!
With such I hasten to the place
Where God my Saviour shows His face,
And gladly take my station there,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
Thy wings shall my petition bear
To Him whose truth and faithfulness
Engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,
I’ll cast on Him my every care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Nigeria: Let the Love of Christ Compel Us

Join This HeartCry Prayer- Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 11.30am -1.30pm (UK Time)

The Lord has declared to us…

Obadiah 17
“But upon Mount Zion, there shall be deliverance and the house of Jacob shall possess their possession.”
Obadiah 21
“And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord's.”
Isaiah 60:22
“A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in his time.”
Zechariah 4:6
“…Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”

God will make us like the heroes of the faith…

Hebrews 11:33:34
“…who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again.”

Prayers for Ourselves

As an intercessor for the revival of souls of men in Nigeria:
  • Lord, establish me firmly upon mount Zion. Root me deeper and deeper in the love of Jesus. Whatever You did to the women who received back their dead, please do it in me.
  • Let my faith also subdue kingdoms, work righteousness and obtain promises. Out of weakness, make me strong and valiant in battle.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15
For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. 16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.

  • Lord, please let it be the love of Christ that compel me in my intercession for souls of men in Nigeria and in all aspects of my labour for revival. Let my labour in You be a love response to Your eternal, infinite and indescribable love. Do not let me take them as projects with no demonstration of love for Your Person and for those You came to save.
  • Luke 7:47 “Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”
  • Let Your grace teach me to know Your love. Open my eyes to see how much You have done to save me from sin and to forgive me. Help me to know how much I have been forgiven that I may love You enough to deny my self-will at all times.
  • From now on, grant that I will regard no one according to the flesh. Please make me usable for Your divine purpose on earth.

Luke 7:44-46
Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. 45 You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. 46 You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil.
  • Let the pursuit of my life to pursue You until I see Your face. Let it be so remarkable that the Lord will say if me, “Do you see this woman…”
  • Lord, You gave Your all. Help me to give You my all, to pour out my love upon You without holding back. Deliver me from every other love that competes with Your love in my heart. Set my heart upon Your will and Your purpose, even in the midst of opposition.
  • Please bring me into the great company of those who are yearning for Your appearing, those who desire Your presence above all else, weeping, waiting, longing to see Your face.
  • Psalm 119:31 “I cling to Your testimonies; O Lord, do not put me to shame!” Until You come, help me to cling unto You. Help my heart to give You my love, my obedience, my passion, my life. Until You come, help me to develop a progressively intimate relationship with You.
  • Lord, keep me focused and desperately dependent on Your Word. Don’t let me ever become strong in myself as to forget to cling to You. When I feel strong and able, I will miss You completely. Please show me mercy in the name of Jesus.

Floods in Nigeria

Last week, more than 110,000 persons in 24 communities, including Makurdi, have been displaced by a flood in Benue state.
4,000 houses submerged in water.
3 consecutive days of heavy rainfall.
People ignored the warnings and many lost everything they took years to acquire.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

  • Plead with the Lord to have mercy on the people of Benue state and surrounding communities. Ask Him to comfort them with His own comfort.
  • Ask for His help, His intervention, His restoration, His provision.
  • Ask the Lord to cause the hearts of the people to begin to yearn for Him, to begin to look to Him alone, even in the midst of this terrible occurrence.
  • Ask the Lord to prevail over this situation and let it turn around for good, that even through this, there will be increase to the kingdom of God.

The Church in Nigeria

1 Thessalonians 5:1-6
But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

  • Lord, we bring the church in Nigeria to Your throne of grace. Let the church become alert to the signs of Your coming. Deliver them from presumption. Deliver them from a life of ease and pleasure. Deliver them from carelessness that ends up in becoming swept away when the Day of the Lord comes.
  • Let the Gospel be restated again and again in the hearts of men. Raise disciples who will be burdened concerning spreading the true gospel. Let a little one of them become a thousand. Let Nigeria be flooded with light. Show mercy upon Your people.
  • Lord, let there be light. Let sons of the light and sons of the day know who they are in You. Let there be a distinction. Tear every veil that covers the minds of the people and keeps them focusing on the mundane things of life.
  • Concerning the church in Nigeria, You will see the travail of Your soul and be satisfied.

“This Gospel…This Woman”

This is a platform for restating the complete gospel message.
Every Monday at 7.30pm

Isaiah 60:1-3
Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.

  • Let’s pray for all our brethren based in Nigeria to arise, shine and take their place as the gospel is being restated to them.
  • Pray that the darkness that has covered the nation will not hinder their arising. Lord, let kings come to the brightness of their rising in the name of Jesus.

LOVE DIVINE ALL LOVES EXCELLING

Love divine, all loves excelling,
Joy of Heav’n to earth come down;
Fix in us thy humble dwelling;
All thy faithful mercies crown!
Jesus, Thou art all compassion,
Pure unbounded love Thou art;
Visit us with Thy salvation,
Enter every trembling heart.
Breathe, O breathe Thy loving Spirit
Into every troubled breast!
Let us all in Thee inherit;
Let us find that second rest.
Take away our bent to sinning;
Alpha and Omega be;
End of faith, as its beginning,
Set our hearts at liberty.
Come, Almighty to deliver,
Let us all Thy life receive;
Suddenly return, and never,
Nevermore Thy temples leave.
Thee we would be always blessing,
Serve Thee as Thy hosts above,
Pray and praise Thee without ceasing,
Glory in Thy perfect love.
Finish, then, Thy new creation;
Pure and spotless let us be;
Let us see Thy great salvation
Perfectly restored in Thee;
Changed from glory into glory,
Till in Heav’n we take our place,
Till we cast our crowns before Thee,
Lost in wonder, love, and praise.
Charles Wesley, 1747
