Nigeria - Occupy till I Come

What does it mean to “Occupy”?

•  To take or hold possession, or control of
• To take up or fill in a position, in the meanwhile
• To step into a space/work/labour
• To reside in, as an owner or tenant

Examples of those who occupied whilst the Master was away

• The apostles
• Watchman Nee
• Wesley Brothers
• Fanny Crosby
• William Tyndale

Occupy Till I Come

Who is this command to?

• God’s people- disciples- the church

What is God’s intent when He says, Occupy till Christ comes?

Matthew 28:19-20

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

• LORD, please restate this command “GO” to all your seed. Help every weary; dull of hearing and slothful heart obey and respond to this instruction.
• For every disciple who is still sitting; sleeping; striving for their own purpose; LORD help them hear GO and cause all to arise.

Wrong “GO”

Go- but for men’s pocket

Go- in the manner of Absalom- to steal men’s heart; publicize self and obscure JESUS

Go- expand, enlarge and multiply their private ambition

Go- supposedly in the name of JESUS but working furiously for MR FLESH

• Bring about genuine sorrow that leads to Godly repentance for all that fall into this category.

 “GO”- where?

All nations of people

• Children; Youth; Muslims; Politicians; Singles; Jihadist; Villagers {if we have been going as the Father instructed maybe we will be talking of a different Nigeria}

MAKE- to cause to happen; to bring into being by forming, shaping or altering material DISCIPLES- someone who accepts and helps spread the teaching of a person

•  Lord, for those who have heard and obeyed "GO"; but are not making disciples; please redirect their hearts and focus to this duty and call.
• Let the "GO" be to declare the mysterious and superior cross centered gospel of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Few are willing to take up the labour of forming, shaping and nurturing into full maturity men who will be followers of Christ. Many find it easy to recruit and abandon converts and members to their own fate.

• Lord, please grant to us all a heart revelation of Your will. Entangle us from all the encumbrances of ministry and help us in this daybreak to invest only on that ONE needful thing. Bringing men to Calvary and labouring to make them disciples of JESUS not a replica of SELF.
• Making disciples is not a flashy ministry; it is labour intensive and often done in obscurity. Help all your children embrace this work with great delight. It must be seen as a holy, great calling. Sever everyone bound to the ministry of SELF; grant grace to bend down; and release their lives into labouring to see JESUS fully matured in men. 

BAPTISING them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the HOLY SPIRIT

Baptise-immerse into, cover completely, overwhelm with

•  Forgive us for every instance, where men are raised to be totally immersed in hero and idol worship instead of JESUS.
• Forgive us for all instances in Nigeria, where CHRIST has become obscure and men have become fixated on other men.
• Release new crops of disciples who are emptied of self and will only raise others to be immersed completely in Christ.
• Lord, help everyone that has or still is propagating this error to see their fault and grant them grace to repent.
• Let the message of the Cross return to all local assemblies and grant a heart revelation to all of God’s messengers to know that they must decrease as Christ must increase.
• Lord, we plead for an outpouring of righteousness on all in Nigeria.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

1.  GO- not sit, not sleep, not slumber, not argue
2. Make disciples- not god fathers; not association/denominations
3. Baptise them- only in the name of the trinity not into our own selfish lust; not baptise men to worship and serve self-ambitions
4. Teach...to observe- instruct in righteousness not teach psychology; teach to observe/practice/walk the WORD

• Lord, help us simply to obey every detail of this mandate, only then will we see the fulfilment of Your Word- I am with you always (divine presence):
• Help us Lord to stop multiplying hypocrite-men who are taught to just acquire knowledge of the WORD but do not walk into it.

According to the Association of Religion Data Archives 91.9% of the South American population is Christian, although less than half of them are practicing.

Catholicism

Except for Suriname and Uruguay, the more professed religion in the South American countries is the Catholic religion. While countries such as Paraguay, Peru, Colombia and Argentina more than three quarters of the population is Catholic, in Chile is 57%.

Catholicism was the only religion allowed in the colonial era, the indigenous were forced to abandon their beliefs, although many did not abandon it at all, for example, countries with predominantly Amerindian population such as Bolivia and Peru there is a syncretism between indigenous religions and the Catholic religion, that has occurred since colonial times. In Brazil or Colombia, Catholicism was mixed with certain African rituals.

 

Protestantism

Protestantism has been around since the nineteenth century, as a minority, but has had a strong increase since the 1980s. The majority of Latin American Protestants in general are Pentecostals. Brazil today is the most evangelical country in South America, where 89% of Brazilians evangelicals are Pentecostals, in Chile represents 79% of the total evangelicals in that country, 69% in Argentina and 59% in Colombia. On the other part, in Uruguay 66% of evangelicals are Methodists, while only 20% are Pentecostal.

So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas. ‘Put this money to work,’ he said, ‘until I come back.’

Verse 10 points to the heart of Jesus’ mission here on earth. This is also our mission too as His disciples, to seek.

Part of our seeking to save is praying for the continent of South America.

Prayer:

Even though with the statistics, it seems that Christianity is high in this region but our prayer is that the full gospel is preached in the continent of South America, majority of the Christians are Catholics.

·         Lord, let the hearts of the “Christians” be open to the True Gospel.

·         Break the hold of sin and untrue gospel from the hearts of your children.

·         Father, please reveal Yourself unto Your children.

·         Open their eyes to see You O Lord.

For areas prone to disaster like South America, a lot of emergency responders such as people, governments and organisations respond to affected areas.

·         Let us pray that the Lord will touch the hearts of the responders on ground so that the impact on the lives of these vulnerable people will be turned over to the Lord.

·      Lord, please reveal Yourself unto the responders so that they would have the correct and lasting impact on the lives in South America.

·      Lord strengthen them to do the right thing, O God; sharing the gospel boldly.

·         As aids are being given; let Your word be passed on as well.

For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

Part of South America has recently been hit with the Zika virus; currently, there is no vaccine or medication to stop Zika. The only way to avoid catching it is to avoid getting bitten by the Aedes mosquitoes that transmit the infection. The bigger health threat though is believed to be in pregnancy, to the unborn child. 

·         Let us pray for God’s mercy for the land.

·         Lord, we seek Your mercy for Your children in the areas that have been affected by the Zika virus.

Acts 13:1-4  "Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. ² As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. ³ And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. ⁴ So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus."

Acts 15:3-4   " And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren. ⁴ And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them." (KJV)

" After they were sent off and on their way, they told everyone they met as they traveled through Phoenicia and Samaria about the breakthrough to the non-Jewish outsiders. Everyone who heard the news cheered—it was terrific news!  ⁴When they got to Jerusalem, Paul and Barnabas were graciously received by the whole church, including the apostles and leaders. They reported on their recent journey and how God had used them to open things up to the outsiders." (The Message)

Barnabas and Saul went round, preaching the Gospel, with signs following:

Acts 13 & 14              Antioch, Seleucia, Cyprus, Salamis, Paphos, Perga, Pisidia, Iconium,

                                    Lystra, Derbe, Perga, Attalia, Antioch.

As we pass through the open doors of Europe again, there will be breakthroughs of conversion of souls to declare, with signs and wonders following, as in the days of Barnabas and Saul.

ü Lord thank You for opening the doors of Europe to Barnabas and Saul many years ago. We have hope that You will do same today as we ask You. You are the same today as in the days of Paul, and You will forever be the same. You can do it again!

ü Thank You for the open doors You have already granted us into Europe. Please open us the door of utterance and let Your Word come with power as we speak.

ü Please open the door of faith in the hearts of the people of Europe as they hear the Gospel again. Make them receptive. Open their understanding and let us see many genuine conversion of souls to Jesus.

ü Acts 13:6-12. Remove the enemies of the cross from our way, those who would withstand the Word and prevent others from believing.

ü Acts 14:6-10. Lord confirm Your Word with signs and wonders and miracles happening. Heal the sick, release the captives in their minds, raise the dead. Holy Spirit, come move among us Your people as You did with Barnabas and Saul and their team.

ü Acts 14:11-18. Lord please help us return all the glory to You when You would have worked in Europe as we carry the Gospel from city to city. Amen.

Prayer

              ·        Thank God for the continent of Oceania.

·        Holy Spirit by your hand send forth your children who have encountered the Cross to occupy every country represented in Oceania.

·        Let the Complete Gospel be preached in every nation in Oceania.

·        Lord, prepare the hearts of the people of Oceania to receive the message of the Cross.

·        Let there be a hunger in the hearts of the people of Oceania for the Word of God – The Complete Gospel of Jesus.

·        Holy Spirit, please remove every veil that may be covering the hearts of the people of Oceania from receiving the Gospel.

·        Holy Spirit, let faith arise in the heart of the people of Oceania to receive and believe the message of the Cross.

·        We come against everything that has been programed in the world system that makes a man feel comfortable with the way he is, without God.

·        Lord every Obadiah in Oceania bring them out of hiding and let your Word spread to every town, city and country.

·        Lord, give every Christian in Oceania a revelation of the Cross. Cause it to bring them into the Complete Gospel of our Lord.

Matthew 6:10”Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”

·        Lord let thy Kingdom come over the continent of Oceania. Establish your kingdom in the continent of Oceania.

·        Lord Jesus, be the one in charge of every facet of Oceania – Government, Hospitals, Schools, Military, etc.

·        Lord, please carry the government of Oceania on your shoulders.

·        Lord, take your place in the continent of Oceania.

·        Holy Spirit, breathe your breath on every country in Oceania.

1 Corinthians 1:17 (KJV) “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

^“17 For Christ didn’t send me to baptize, but to preach the Gospel; and even my preaching sounds poor, for I do not fill my sermons with profound words and high-sounding ideas, for fear of diluting the mighty power there is in the simple message of the cross of Christ.” (TLB)

^“17 For Christ did not send me [as an apostle] to baptize, but [commissioned and empowered me] to preach the good news [of salvation]—not with clever and eloquent speech [as an orator], so that the cross of Christ would not be ^[b]made ineffective [deprived of its saving power]”. (AMP)

·        Lord, deliver your church from every religious spirit. Rid it from every power that has denied the Power of the Cross.

·        Lord, visit your church again and bring back the message of the Cross to the pulpit of the churches of Oceania.

^·         Let your Word, come with power and convict many of sin, of righteousness and judgement. Let it bring them to the Cross.

^·         Let your church rise up and take responsibility for the souls of men.

Psalms 60:4 “Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth”

·        Lord let the people of Oceania fear you so you can be a banner over them and bring them into your divine truth.

·        Thank you Jesus for taking your rightful place in the continent of Oceania.
